UROS Teamrace

History

The UROS Teamrace is a yearly returning event that was first held on April 8th 2011. The concept of the UROS Teamrace is that you run a course in a team consisting of four to seven runners. You run a five kilometer track starting at Sportpark Jekerdal that goes up and around the Sint-Pietersberg - together with your team - as quickly as possible. The time of the fourth team member crossing the finish line is the final time of your team. The team with the fastest time wins the race, the honour and a great price. Of course, we also have a reward for everyone after completing the race, and there is a lottery for every participant.

The UROS Teamrace is a great preparation for the Batavierenrace and a nice teambuilding exercise.

The first edition of the teamrace was a great success with seven teams (consisting of 36 runners in total) participating. The winning team was A.D.I.D.A.S., consisting of Luuk, Bas, Jos, Remko and Wouter, in a time of 20m 07s. The results of the first edition can be found at the bottom of this page. We welcomed runners from various other sport associations in Maastricht like Stennis, DBSV, Heep, Hippo's and MUSST, as well as atletes from the rest of The Netherlands. Afterwards, a great party with all volunteers, runners and supporters was held in Café de Joie.

Costs

We think that participation to the Uros teamrace should be accessible to everyone, therefore a large amount of volunteers help organizing this race. Together with the help of our sponsors we are able to organize this race for only €3,- per runner, when registering before March 19th. After this deadline it is this possible to register for the price of €5,- per runner.
After the race we invite you to a dinner at the track. The cost for this dinner is €7,- each, registering in advance is obligatory (since this needs to be ordered). We will order Chinese food, if you have special requirements/requests please mail us in advance. After this dinner it is time to party in Maastricht!
Showers are available at the track.
